Jirafo Millennium Loader / Unloader
The Jirafo Millennium Loader / Unloader System handless boards as large 870 x 840 mm. Thanks to its revolutionary design it can load up to 18 boards per minute with extreme accuracy and care. The Jirafo Millennium offers the possibility of increasing productivity and reducing manufacturing expenses and scrap at a very reasonable cost.
Furthermore, the convenience of adjusting the conveyor of the Jirafo Millennium to the process line while keeping the machine itself at a fixed height leads to simple and inexpensive cassette trolleys that allow effortless transfers of cassettes between consecutive production processes.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
- The Jirafo Millennium Loader / Unloader can handle panels of thickness ranging from 0.06 mm to 4 mm (2.5 mils – 0.2”) (Those limits can be exceeded depending on panel size).
- The Jirafo Millennium Loader / Unloader handless boards with an extreme care thanks to its innovative mechanisms. The risk of damaging boards due to scratches is drastically reduced.
- The Jirafo Millennium Loader / Unloader is equipped with a counter that allows the operator to know the number of boards that have been loaded or unloaded. If desired the machine can be programmed to stop loading or warn the operator after a certain amount of boards have been loaded or unloaded.
- The innovative design of the Jirafo Millennium allows to adjust it to the height of the production line by simply modifying the height of the conveyor. The cassette side of the Jirafo remains at a constant height. As a consequence the trolleys used to transfer the cassettes have a standard height which in turn leads to simple, extremely robust, long lasting and inexpensive trolleys. With this unique philosophy the transfer of the heavy stacks of boards from an unloader to a loader could not be easier or faster.
- The trolleys include a latch to prevent the cassettes from rolling off while they are being carried around. When transferring the cassette to/from the Jirafo Millennium a mechanism will unlatch the cassette and allow it to roll smoothly.
- The Jirafo Millennium Loader can be controlled by de machine it feeds. Upon request (different electrical signals) the Jirafo Millennium delivers a board, as is the case of automatic dry film laminators or automatic screen printing machines.
- Through its 3-color signal system the Jirafo Millennium warns the operator about its present status.
- The Jirafo Millennium Loader / Unloader automatically detects if the cassette is almost empty (or full) of boards and turns on an orange light indicating that the cassette will soon need to be replaced.
- The Jirafo Millennium can load/unload boards at a rate of up to 18 boards/minute (depending on board size).
- The Jirafo Millennium is prepared to work in any kind of environment: wet process or corrosive conditions, clean environments, etc
- The Jirafo Millennium Buffer is an all-in-one Loader and Unloader. Through an external signal or by pushing a button the Jirafo Millennim changes from loader to unloader or the other way around. Used to assure the production of part of a line when one of its elements is momentarily out of order.
- Optionally the Jirafo Millennium can be equipped with the following items:
- Centering device
- De-centering (staggering) device
- Implementation for heavy duty
- Double-sheet detector
- Panels are grasped by means of 12 suctions cups. The vacuum is provided by individual vacuum pumps to guarantee individual suction power in every working condition. The position of the suction cups can be changed easily to allow manipulation of different size boards. The minimum panel size that can be handled is 300 mm x 300 mm (12” x 12”) an the maximum size is 870 mm x 840 mm (34” x 33”).
- The Jirafo Millennium can be controlled remotely both by cable or radio. The advantages of this option are interesting when the Jirafo Milennium is placed in a clean or yellow room. The operator won´t need to enter and leave the room continuously.
- The Jirafo Millennium Loader / Unloader can inform about its status via radio up to a distance of 100 mts. The beeper receiving the signal indicates to the operator whether the Jirafo Millennium is running, in stand-by mode or stopped.

MILLENNIUM CASSETTE
- Designed to find a compromise between sliding, buckling and stressing of boards the Jirafo Millennium cassette can safely store panels of thickness ranging from 4 mm down to 0.06 mm or less (depending on panel size).
- Boards are stacked at an angle of 65º to reduce the negative effects of stressing the boards under their own weight. Buckling of large and thin innerlayers is also avoided.
- To avoid sliding of boards the cassette “floor” is tilted to form a right angle with its back.
- Stainless steel cassette or oven painted steel.
- The cassette can be easily transferred from the machine to a trolley or vice versa for transportation to following process.
